I had to manually enable it in AU manager 2 or 3 times. Not anymore.

Thanks Chris. I installed 10.6.2 last night and before that authorized Trilian,
so I thought something might go wrong with the system.

Maybe I just got lucky but I've been using Omnisphere under SL pretty
much since it came out and I've not noticed any issues (Logic 9 also).

Hi.

Yeah I'm really looking forward to this.

Currently I'm not able to access the parameters for editing and creating synth
basses due to my screen reader not being able to work with the STEAM Engine, so
having some patches to use will be very welcomed.

The Electric and Acoustic basses are out of this world!

Subject: [spectrasonics] How to work with multis in Omnisphere

Good afternoon everyone:

Hope you are all well - couple of related quick questions on the topic of
'multis' in Omnisphere. I looked in the manual and the FAQ but couldn't find
the answer (or maybe I am looking in the wrong place).

1. Is is possible to set up a multi in Omnisphere where one staff in my midi
score is routed to channel 1 one of a stack in Omnisphere, the next staff to
channel 2, and so on? (similar to multis in NI's Kontakt or EW's Play) Or,
by contrast, should I use individual instances of Omnisphere for each staff
/ midi channel in my score?

2. Somewhat related, how can I open multis and where are they saved? I saved
a multi in a subfolder of 'user' but can't seem to be able to open it. The
utility button seems to do a lot of things but there is no 'multi load'
function that I can see.

Bear with me if this sounds simple minded - I am new to Omnisphere.

Thanks!

Peter

when i reopen a patch, any the parameters i have altered are not being visually
represented but are still applied. for instance, in the second multi part, i
have "lush green strings" loaded. i turned on the filter, applied an lfo to the
filter, and also turned on fm and made changes to the frequency. i then saved
the patch, closed ableton, and reopened ableton. when the patch loads in
omnisphere, the fm tweaks and cutoffs are still audible, but the lights show
that the cutoff and fm are off, and the lfo dialog boxes say "off".

it seems it is doing this in all multi parts except for 1. i tried it in 3 and
it is doing the same thing. i hope my explanation was clear enough. i am on
mac 10.6.1 (could this be the prob?) 4GB RAM, 2.8GHz

thanks,

I'm absolutely loving Trilian. Amazing sounds and features. I'm already using it
on several records.

Just wondering if there's any new news on when the first full set of synth

There's so much possibility, and I've already begun to create my own, but I'd be

Unfortunately, accesibility for blind users is a very complicated problem and
one that would greatly change our ability to use the current graphics system
that it available for plug-in interfaces. THere are many more options available
in this regard to stand-alone applications than there are for plug-ins.

We have not yet figured out a way to open our instruments up to universal screen
readers, without the interface and appearance of the plug-ins taking a major hit
in a negative direction.

But we'll keep looking into it for sure. If we had a way to solve both issues
easiliy, we would have done it quite a while ago....because we do indeed
appreciate the need that is out there and this consistent request from the sight
impaired community.

Thanks for your feedback,

spectrum

Eric,
Have you taken any notice at all of Apple's Voiceover screen reading
solution? Is there any hope for Spectrasonics products being accesssible in
Voiceover? While I've been a life-long Windows/Sonar user, I'd consider
moving to a Mac if Logic, owned by Apple, became Voiceover compliant.
Having accessibility to Voiceover in Spectrasonics' product line would be
excellent indeed.

Darren,
thanks for joining the list. I don't have Trilian, but I do have RMX
and Atmosphere. I might get Omnisphere some day if accessibility improves.
Unfortunately, I have noticed that accessibility is one of the few things
where Spectrasonics doesn't seem to be as responsive as they are otherwise.
Hopefully, the appearance of more blind users will help change this.

Hi all.

Just thought I'd introduce myself and pose a quick problem that I'm sure has

a simple solution.

I'm Darren a blind musician based in the UK.

I've recently started recording new material after a break of some 15 years.

I use Sonar and the majority of my projects use Atmosphere, Trilogy, and
Stylus RMX.

I've just upgraded to Trilian and am having problems accessing anything
other than the Trilian Demo bank of synth bases.

Now, a lot of the buttons in the interface are not currently accessible for
my screen reading software, but I'm hoping to change that in the coming
weeks.

I'm able to click on the Acoustic, Electric and Synth bass options and the
Electric and Acoustic bring up a list of basses, but when I click on the
Synth Bass option, I just get a button I assume, labelled "Default", but
when I click that I get the following message...

Cannot open Multi E:/STEAM/Trilian/Settings Library/Multis/User/Synth
Bass/default.mlt_trl

Now, if there's another button I need to click on that my screen reader
isn't seeing I can get sighted assistance, but I do need to know what to
tell my partner to look for.

It's a shame that all clickable objects aren't labelled like the default,
and category selection items, it would make life so much simpler.

I'm very impressed with the electric basses, extremely realistic, even when
played live.

Hope someone can assist.

Cheers
Darren

Unfortunately, while Spectrasonics is usually very responsive, accessibility
is one of those areas in which they have not demonstrated a willingness to
accommodate their potential customers.

Hi Greg.

Thanks for that, very very useful.

It's becoming increasingly frustrating hearing some bloody brilliant new
plugIns, only to find the accessibility is totally useless on most of the
products.

Don't they know how my blind musicians there are that would fall over
themselves to buy accessible products?

They obviously don't realise the value of life time customers.

Cheers
Darren

Cheers
Darren

bonjour
(thanks to babel fish)
I try to help a musician because I arrange a little bit in data processing
The musician is owner of Mackie Onyx 1220, PC with Gigabyte PA-P55M-UD2 and 4GB
DDR3, Windows XP Pro SP3, Cubase SX 3, Stylus RMX 1.5.1, Omnisphere .
All steps of the installation are successful.

The last thing to be made is the Authorization of Omnisphere and when I am on
the Spectrasonic's page of the account it's like following

"Instrument"
Omnisphere

"Serial N"
nnnnnnnn (<--- Nota: there the real licence number)

"Licence Type"
Not Active

and in the rows "Get Updates" and "Get Authorization"
Contact tech support info@...

How is it possible?? Why a not active licence type??
I wrote to Spectrasonics. They already helped me for problems and that puts much
time. Who can answer?

So... which drive?

You know I have to ask. :)

Bench marks aside, I suspect we won't really know until people start doing
actual work with these various drives. So, I hope to see what real world
results people can share with us.

OK, the new Seagate ST9500420AS is in my Macbook Pro (7200 rpm, 500 GB).
Here are the Xbench results:

Sequential

Uncached Write 68.55 MB/sec [4K blocks]
Uncached Write 74.10 MB/sec [256K blocks]
Uncached Read 16.29 MB/sec [4K blocks]
Uncached Read 88.24 MB/sec [256K blocks]

Random

Uncached Write 1.06 MB/sec [4K blocks]
Uncached Write 40.39 MB/sec [256K blocks]
Uncached Read 0.54 MB/sec [4K blocks]
Uncached Read 23.70 MB/sec [256K blocks]

So unless I'm misreading something on most scores it's significantly (though
not proportionately) better than the WD 5400. Interesting...

OK, time to take a valium after the experience of pulling my Macbook Pro
apart and back together again...:=)
