Description

This group is dedicated to all styles and aspects of pre-war jazz. It was named after the Red Hot Jazz Archives, with kind permission of Scott Alexander.

However, Scott vanished from the group years ago, and the RHJ website has been unattended ever since ; we are aware that some audio files are no longer available, but we have no power to fix this, and would appreciate getting in touch with the webmaster again.

We suggest visitors of the RHJ Archive to check the number of valid and invalid audio files for each page at Hot Jazz Files before suspecting their own system or software.

A separate group, for which no subscription is required, welcomes questions and contributions regarding the technical aspects of the website : RHJ-Tech.

For this -- and all vintage material -- seek out JRT Davies transcriptions. Speed correction is an art, not a science, especially as jazz musicians, especially

Sounds similar to editing old photos digitally, there may be a "right" answer but it'd be hard to prove, even to yourself! Andrew Taylor (from my iPad)
